Reducing staff resistance to change through ownership
For District Superintendent Dr. Jeff Matteson and his leadership team at TST BOCES, the key to making successful change involves deeply including staff in discussions and decisions that affect them. Dr. Matteson historically used surveys to engage employees, but realized they weren’t producing the results they needed.
“In surveys, we get varying participation and results because people feel like they’re being surveyed to death and we’re always left to interpret the comments section,” he explains.
