As an education leader, the past year may have put you into survival mode—but many of the pandemic measures have positively impacted students, staff, and communities. At the inaugural ThoughtExchange Leadership Summit, we dug into the practices that have proven successful during the COVID-19 school year to help leaders like you build a framework for replicating them in your district. It’s time to continue this essential conversation.
At our second Leadership Summit, Leading on the Edge: Positioned for Growth in 2021/2022, you’ll join former superintendent and current Director of Education Operations, Dr. Dennis Carpenter, for a half-day virtual conference with education leaders from around the country. Throughout the Summit, we’ll use the ThoughtExchange platform to actively take part in the discussions and help share the conversation around what the school year looks like in 21-22 and beyond.
KEYNOTE
Hypocritical Race Theory:
The Current Polarization of the American Educational Experience
Education in America has been politicized since its inception, and to some extent always will be. But given the recent events that have redefined how the educational experience has been weaponized, most often to the detriment of students, we have to be more intentional about how we dispel the mythologies that plague what, where, and how students learn. As we continue to reimagine education to benefit all students, especially our most vulnerable, we must continue to engage in constructive dialogue that assists in the minimization of the destructive attitudes that historically and presently challenge this possibility.
Join Dr. Sams for a riveting keynote address to kick off our Education Leadership Summit.
